Around 11pm on April 20th 2012, Telesma hit the stage at Rams Head Live in Baltimore for the “Visionary Gathering v4.20″. A few minutes into the set, band member Ian Hesford collapsed to the floor in sudden cardiac arrest. Telesma’s good friends, Sarah Saccoccio and Tom Swiss jumped onstage and started CPR until the medics arrived and transported Ian to Mercy Medical Center. Ian was without a pulse for 93 minutes. The doctors were just about to give up on him when he shot back into his body and literally came back to life. In the weeks after the event, an outpouring of love and support for Ian came in from all over the world. His hospital room was transformed into a shamanic altar, with friends and family surrounding him with love, music, and laughter. Three weeks later, Ian received his defibrillator implant and was released from the ICU. His determination and focus sped up his recovery and he began a regiment of exercise and practice to get his drumming and didgeridoo playing back up to speed. Just 6 weeks after his cardiac arrest, Ian was back onstage with Telesma, and toured with the group all summer long! His story is a reminder of the power of love, determination, and the support of the community that Ian and Telesma have been so fortunate to be a part of for so many years.

The Hour Haus has special meaning for Telesma. This was where our music and art was truly “born” for many years. So its only fitting that we return there for this special occasion.

We hope that you’ll join us to celebrate this remarkable journey and to come together to celebrate our community through music and art!

Telesma wins Reverbnation Contest – Slot at Camp Bisco

http://www.mynewsletterbuilder.com/email/newsletter/1410910879#2

Reverbnation Contest Winner Telesma Selected From Over 2,400 Entries!
For the first year, Camp Bisco tapped the Reverbnation community for a slot on the Showcase Stage. The festival received an astounding 2,404 entries from bands, DJs and musicians from around the world. We are thrilled to announce that this year’s winner is Telesma from Baltimore. Exploding on the Baltimore music scene in 2002, Telesma soon developed a loyal local fan base and then shook the underground festival scene from coast to coast. Alex Grey, the noted visionary artist, hailed Telesma as “shamanic… with a sense of an underlying universal wisdom…a rare combination in a rock/techno band.” You can catch Telesma at 1:30pm on the Showcase Stage on Saturday, July 8th.

Saturday Nov. 14th
Lost Symbols @ The Wind Up Space (Baltimore, MD)
“One People, One Planet, Hon! Hidden Meanings of Common Symbols”

Dr. Robert R. Hieronimus will present a slide show and demonstration on the Hidden Meanings of Common Symbols in conjunction with a performance by TELESMA at The Windup Space on 12 W. North Ave. in Baltimore on Saturday, November 14, 2009.

Decoding the reverse of America’s Great Seal as a symbol for the God within and the connection to higher consciousness has been the life work of Hieronimus. (He first contacted the State Department about that mysterious eye and pyramid on the one dollar bill in 1968!) Thanks to the best-selling ability of Dan Brown, tens of millions of readers are now being introduced to Hieronimus’s work in the form of Brown’s new novel, The Lost Symbol. On November 14th, Baltimore music fans and art lovers will hear a personal explanation of how our nation’s most common symbols ultimately point to the same thing: unity, balance, and attaining a state of higher consciousness. Learn how to decipher symbols for yourself. Next door in the large warehouse space there is also the opportunity for attendees to paint their own symbolic artwork.

After his presentation, Dr. Hieronimus and assistants will create symbolic mural to the transformative music of TELESMA

Selections of Hieronimus’s 40 years of symbolic art will be on display at The Windup Space from November 1 through December 31, 2009. Also on display will be selections from the rock and roll celebrity photographs of Stuart Zolotorow. From Brooks Robinson to Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Willie Nelson, Zolotorow has photographed and published some of the legends of popular music and sports. Cultural heroes and mythology are essential to the health of stable society, and Zolotorow’s photos of our contemporary heroes remind us all to aim for the stars and that our purpose in life is to change the world.

Afterward, Neil Kurlander (Soul Mob Productions DJ) will bless the decks till 2am.

A portion of the proceeds to benefit Station North Arts & Entertainment, Inc., a nonprofit organization.

Sponsored in part by the Mill Valley Cultural Arts Umbrella, Inc. and Umbrella Radio http://www.umbrellaradio.org and Joe Squared Pizza.
